Privacy notice
This notice explains what happens to the details you send through this website. It is written for the enquiry form — the health information gathered in person at an appointment is covered by the separate consent form you complete at your first session.
Who is responsible
Emma Wilson, trading as Emma Wilson Sports Massage, Redbourn, St Albans, is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach Emma at emma at emw-massage.com.
What is collected
When you use the enquiry form, the following is sent by email to Emma:
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- The session length you selected.
- The area(s) of your body you would like worked on.
- Any current injuries or conditions, and any allergies, that you choose to tell us about.
- Any other notes you add.
The health-related boxes are optional, and mirror the questions on the intake form Emma uses. Please give only a brief heads-up at this stage — anything more detailed is better discussed in person at your first appointment. Do not send medical records through the website.
Why it is collected, and the lawful basis
Your details are used solely to reply to your enquiry and arrange an appointment. The lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. Where you mention health information, the additional condition relied on is your explicit consent, so that the session can be delivered safely.
You will not be added to a mailing list, and your details are never sold, rented or shared for marketing.
Who else sees it
- Vercel Inc. hosts this website and processes the form submission in transit.
- Mailgun (Sinch) delivers the enquiry email, where server-side delivery is enabled, processing it on servers in the European Union. If it is not enabled, your own email app sends the message directly and no third party is involved beyond your own email provider.
- Emma’s email provider stores the message once it arrives.
No analytics, advertising or tracking scripts run on this site. The typeface is served from this domain, so no requests are made to any third party as you browse. There are no cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to an appointment are deleted within twelve months. If you become a client, your contact details and treatment records are kept for the period required for insurance and professional practice — this is explained on your in-person consent form.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information held about you, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its use, or receive a copy in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time — this does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email emma at emw-massage.com. If you are unhappy with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
